Ready, Set, GOogle

Led by our Google Certified educators, our Ready, Set, GOogle has something for everyone, whether you are a total beginner, or an advanced user. All classes are geared with best practices for classroom integration. Questionnaires are sent out to registrants prior to the class to ensure that the workshop is tailored to attendees needs.

Unless otherwise noted, workshops are full day 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. Some workshops are offered multiple times. Choose the date that works best for you.
 

 

Google Classroom and Hyperdocs
Distributing assignments, tracking student work, and class communication just got easier with Google Classroom. You will learn how to set up your classroom, enroll students, and maximize the features of Classroom for less paper and more efficiency. Next learn how easy it is to design and create a digital lesson  (hyperdoc) using Google. Participants will leave a with digital lesson ready to be assigned in their Google Classroom.

Set Your Sights on Creating a New Google Site!
Set your sights on creating your new class webpage with the new Google Sites. During this hand on 3 hour workshop we will get you up to date on the new Google sites. Spend time creating your new Google website with instructor support. Leave with a class website ready to share with families.

Introduction to G-Suite
Did your district adopt G Suite, Google’s online education products? Not sure what this means or where to begin? Great! We will introduce you to G Suite, including docs, sheets, slides, forms and classroom. During the hands on workshop you will have time to explore and create in the various components of G Suite. Participants will leave with an overview of the different main features of G Suite and how they can be utilized in the classroom.

Audience: All teachers, all subject areas, administrators.  Previous Experience: None required.

Google Forms and Maps
Google Forms is more than a simple tool to create a form. You will learn how Forms is an interactive resource in G Suite used to create quizzes, surveys, and more. Forms lends itself to differentiated learning with its ability to integrate videos, images and branching. It gets better! We will explore Google Maps and learn how you and your students can utilize forms to create a 3-D interactive map. Discover how this feature can apply in so many subjects including language arts, social studies, math, science, and geography, You will be surprised how easy it is to do this and the numerous ways you can integrate across the curriculum.

Spreadsheets in the Classroom
The most powerful tool you never knew you had!
The spreadsheet is the most overlooked yet powerful tool in your teaching toolbox. Join us as we first show you the basics from cell formatting to yes—how to do that return in a cell to continue typing. Then learn how spreadsheets can do be “taught” to compute math equations, count data, and more. During this hands on workshop you will learn how to use a spreadsheet to compute mean, median, mode, average, countif. You will even learn how to concatenate! Leave with resources, lessons ready to integrate seamlessly with your curriculum, and a tool that will empower you and  your students!
